Wood Characteristics

Wood Characteristics

We use all dry seasoned wood in our products.   Wood is a natural product and every piece displays it's own natural character, knots, holes, color variations and even worm holes are all naturally occurring wood traits.  Individual wood characteristics affect how a stain or finish appears.  Some slight darkening over time is another natural property of many woods.  These characteristics of wood are part of the natural beauty of wood and are not defects.  However, on Custom or Special order items, you may indicate that you want to see less or more of these characteristics and I will make every effort to use the right piece of wood for your project.  What is a prized beauty mark to some people may be looked at as a flaw to others.

Finish;  Each piece is detailed by hand and finished with 3 coats of pre catalized lacquer, unless otherwise stated.

Finished size;  Because each piece is hand sanded the overall outside dimension may vary slightly from sizes listed.
